Furniture
Our products are designed and produced to last. Taking care of your product extends its lifecycle even further.
All our furniture has been pre – owned and upcyled. The pieces have been re-worked and refurbished, however there can still be some permanent marks on the pieces from before. These marks we have kept as a mark from the furnitures previous life adding to their uniqueness.
Dust
For the furniture stay in good condition dust it regularly to avoid dust to gather getting hard to remove.
Cleaning
Avoid using strong detergent when cleaning your furniture. Use a soft cloth and never use material which can scratch the furniture.
After cleaning use a dry cloth to dry the the piece thoroughly in order to avoid leaving any marks.
Mother of Pearl
The material mother of pearl is a delicate material which needs extra care. Avoid staining the material with any acid liquids or tea and coffee. This is hard to remove and will leave bad marks.
We recommend always using coasters.

Hand wash
Our cotton products with silk details are hand was only. All fabric shrink a little when washing. If machine washed the two different fabrics might shrink differently.
Ironing
Iron your cotton piece at low heat. Be careful and use a cloth between the silk fabric and the iron when ironing the edges.
Keep it safe
The cotton bag the scarf/sarong arrives in is a good place to store it when it is not used. The MEHROTRA cotton bag is also a good protection for your scarf if putting it in your bag when not using it. However, our scarves are designed to be used as often as possible. They look better on you than in your closet.

Straw bag
The mini straw bag is made by hand from watergrass. As a natural fiber it dries with time and cracks may appear.
Repair
Mending the straw bag with time will make it personal and is a good way to update it.
How to clean it
Gently wipe the dirty area with a clean white and damp cloth to remove dirty. Never over-wet the straw bag. Air dry your bag away from direct sunlight.
Travel tip
The mini straw bag is a perfect travel accessory, it upgrades your outfit and can be used both at the beach and in the city.
Pack your mini straw bag in the dust bag it arrived in to protect it from unnecessary damage.
Keep it safe

Avoid carrying too much and heavy items in your pouch. Since this pouch is crafted from upcycled silk it needs to be handled with care.
There may appear minor scratches in the fabric of the pouches due to its previous life. Therefore be careful when using your pouch.
Avoid dry cleaning too often
You can dry clean your pouch, but be careful due to the hard bottom. Avoid dry cleaning too often. Instead use a damp cloth to remove any dirt.
Ironing
Do not iron the bottom part of your pouch. If ironing your pouch, put a cloth between the pouch and the iron, do not iron directly onto the silk fabric.
If possible, use a steamer instead of an iron.
Travel tip

Cleaning your jewellery
All our hand-picked jewellery is made from sterling silver. Silver oxides and can therefore attain a blackish colour. To clean your silver jewellery, use a cloth and a silver polish from time to time.
Cleaning pieces with natural pearls and stones should be done with care. The silver can be cleaned by using a soft cloth and silver polish, avoid cleaning the natural pearl with silver polish, use only a clean soft cloth to polish the pearl.
Pearls and stones should be kept away from chemicals.

Most of our products are dry clean only, but dry cleaning is not environmental friendly. To avoid dry cleaning your scarf too often, air it after use to get rid of unwanted
smells.
Hand wash
Some of our silk products are hand wash only. When hand washing your piece do so with cold water and detergent specifically for hand washing silk products. Only use a small amount of detergent.
For silk products with fringed edges, avoid washing the fringes to keep their original look and feel.

Pilling
Your wool product can start to pill, this do happen to natural fibres such as wool. If you experience pilling we recommend you not to use a pilling comb or a pilling machine, instead we recommend you to use a pilling stone. This stone is more gentle to the fabric when removing pilling.
